What we've been working on...

Daddy has been working with Wyatt each evening before bed on some bible memory verses.  So far they have gotten through C....I am going to write the verses that he is saying because I think it is a little hard to understand if you don't speak "Wyatt":)

A-All we like sheep have gone astray (Isaiah 53:6)
B-But he was wounded for our transgressions (Isaiah 53:5)
C-Children obey your parents in the Lord (Eph 6:1)

The book was a gift from Grandpa and Grandma Walberg! Thanks so much!!
The ABC Memory Book (Scripture Memory Fellowship)--this book is great because the verses can "grow" with the child.  It has a  verse for every letter in the alphabet and it separates the verses into two parts... the parts that Wyatt is saying are a shorter version or just the first half of the verse. As he gets older and can memorize more and talk better he can memorize the whole verse.

They Saw Us Coming!!

This is what happens when you have a toddler who absolutely loves Cars and Cars 2....you end up with these matchbox cars ALL OVER THE HOUSE!!!!  Through very generous friends and family members we have been adding to this collection over the past few months. Well, also through us since we can't resist a new Cars character when it comes out for our little driver:) There are about 20 cars right there and this sweet little face knows every single name!!!!  Also, these cars are not only here in matchbox form...they also come in a stuffed and fluffy manner, in the shape of a radio, and in coloring books and reading books....

Yes, Disney Pixar definitely had us in mind when they created all this...we are hooked:)

10 Months!!

Another month, another post:)  10 months milestones:

*On New Years Eve he stood all by himself for the very first time! This accomplishment was quickly outshined by....
*taking his first steps all by himself just 2 days ago!!!  This was after he woke us up super early on a day that we could all sleep in of course. But, to see him take his first steps I guess it was kind of worth it:)
*He is still wearing size 3 diapers and mostly 12 month clothing with some 18 month stuff thrown in for good measure:)
*He LOVES his brother!!!  If the kid is fussy while his brother is asleep all it takes is for Wyatt to get up and be his usual self and Tuck absolutely loves following him around and getting into al that Wyatt is trying to play with!
*He does so well anywhere we take him...if we are in the store he is great, he is fabulous in the nursery for church, MOPS and bible study! It is so nice that I don't have to worry how he will be or if we are going to have to leave early because he is causing a ruckus:)
*He loves to bang on things...especially while his brother is sleeping:) Toys banging on tables and floors and walls...nothing is safe from him:)
*He is still sleeping from 9pm to 7 am most mornings...except those crazy mornings where he wakes at 6 am and squawks and whines in his bed for an hour....with us HOPING that he will fall back asleep...doesn't usually happen
*He is a mooch when it comes to food...if we are eating something he wants it too and begs at our feet til we give in

What Saturday brought us...

It was a typical Saturday....Daddy at work, Mommy and the boys hanging out at home.  That is until Wyatt decided that he wanted to investigate the contents of Mommy's purse.  Working zippers that are even hard for me to work. Bypassing the yummy temptations of two packs of gum.  Going straight for the little blue bottle that has tylenol and ibprofen in it!!  I can in just in time to see him with a full mouth and a look on his face that said "Oh, man! You caught me!!"

I got him to spit it out and when I saw how much was in my hand I didn't think that he really could have swallowed that much if any of the pills.  But, as the hour ticked by I just kept thinking of how much he was salivating and how much the pills had already dissolved by the time I found him.

I called poison control and recounted the story....of course they share worst case scenario which is liver failure and liver transplant because just 6 tylenol is all it takes to hurt his little body.  He definitely could have had 6 tylenol!

So, I am frantically trying to get ahold of Jonathan, who is reffing basketball games all day.  Not answering his phone I finally reach a family friend and they were actually going to where Jonny was working!!  They tell him "CALL YOUR WIFE!!"  Then those same sweet family friends come over immediately to watch Tucker for us as we rush off to the ER.

Our Wyatt was on a bed in the ER for over 8 hours!!!!!  They had to draw blood from him twice to test his tylenol levels to make sure he didn't have a toxic level. But, lots of movies, books, and toys were just the right thing to keep him happy and in bed for that long.  He did amazing for a 2 1/2 year old!!! We were both so proud of him and how he handled the pokes, prods, needles, nurses, and doctors.  The last 45 minutes were the hardest because Wyatt was finally ready to move! Jumping on the bed wanting to get down and walk or sit on our laps while still having wires and a port still stuck in his arm.  Our discharge was at 8:45 pm...finally!

While we were in the hospital we counted about 11 people came and went from our house without us there.  All wonderful people who were gracious and loving enough to drop what they were doing and take care of Tucker for us or check in to see how we were all doing.  What a blessing God has given us in these sweet friends!!!!!

How we thank the Lord for His care over our little son....seeing my child going through all of that and the fear that can get the best of you was definitely waging war inside me. But, our God who is faithful, caring, loving, generous and perfect was watching and orchestrating all the right things for us on this day.  Thank you Lord for being so amazing!!!

How we spend a warm day in January!!

This day was absolutely perfect for a hike in the woods with the boys. God blessed us with unusually warm weather in January (of all the months to have to go out in just long sleeves and no coat, hat, or gloves!) and we strapped the kiddos on and took advantage of it!

Hhhmmm...looks kinda like Tuck slept the whole time...dead weight!
We took some time to find some treasure hidden in the park too...geocaching got Wyatt a new dinosaur! It's name is Loccy...since he is a velociraptor and all:)

Holiday travels!

We spent the holiday seasons traveling and hanging out with family.  It was great to see everyone!!!  Some we hadn't seen in a whole year!!  We spent Christmas in St Louis with the Kellerman side: This was Tucker's first Christmas and he loved helping to rip the paper...and then try and eat it:)
The boys on Christmas morning right before going to church...cheeseball smiles and all!
We are singing happy Birthday to Jesus...everyone looks so thrilled:)
My brother, Matt, repelling from a deer stand...if you can't find a rock to repel from the next best thing is a tree:)
Wyatt got to go bowling for the first time!
New Years was spent in Toledo: Wyatt is opening his Resurrection Eggs from Grandma and Grandpa...had wanted to open each egg over and over!
all the grandkids!
Tucky getting some sweet cousin time with Corinne!
Daddy and Wyatt built a fort to rival any thing on the old frontier:)

Snapshots

Here is how we like to spend a snowy and cold day:
Getting bundled up to go play in the show...
playing playdo with lots of awesome new playdo toys...
making 10 cups of shredded chicken to go in our freezer plus about 12 cups of yummy
homemade chicken broth...

sewing some fun new diaper holders with the kiddo's names on them so the nursery workers won't have to put a name sticker on each week or ask "Now what does his bag look like again?"

What!?!

I cannot believe that this kid made the transition into his big boy bed so easily!  This is the kid that needed a crib tent to go on the bed just to keep him in it!  But, maybe it's the kid or the magic of a great daddy, but the first night we tried it he didn't get up once!!  Now, we don't want to jinx anything but so far so good!!!!!  Even my biggest dread, naptime, didn't have any problems!
