Thanks Babe:)

Pinterest has probably become my hubby's worst nightmare:)  If you have not checked it out I would highly advise you to give it a go for a little while:)  I have definitely filled my "Honey Do" list with some projects not only for my hubs but for me as well.   One of the things about me is that I love to reorganize and redecorate all over our home.  Call it a sickness, obsession, whatever you want.  But, I get such great joy out of seeing a drawer full of neatly folded clothing, a closet that is hung with clothes according to season, a basement that is "everything with a place, everything in its place."
All of this to say....Pinterest gave me another great idea that I "just had to try":)  A while ago I redid our bedroom from reds to yellows....I am still in love with the bright colors and more inviting, spring-like look...but I really wanted a new duvet cover...which can be boo-coo bucks!  Just for 2 sheets sewn together!!!!  Enter my trusty sewing machine and some king sized sheets....equals a new duvet cover that is even reversible.  Which hopefully will help solve my desire to redo something every other  month:)
I used this tutorial here to make it happen.

Now when the urge to revamp calls...just flip it!!
Thanks babe for putting up with all my "re"ing:):)

Great Investments....

I think that we had only been married about 8 months before I convinced Jonathan that we should invest in a sewing machine. I think that over the past 4 or so years it has more then earned it keep in our home:) My current project is FINALLY finished!! So, Mom Walberg here is your requested pics on our recently updated bedroom:):) My past few weeks have been full of lots of fabric!!

Out with the red and in with the yellow! We used to have red curtains and lampshades and pillow shams. It definitely makes the room seem more cheery and inviting without the darkness the red seemed to add. The pillow in front of the yellow ones took way to long...but I think that it has fun and different all over it:)

Checkin' it off...

Since moving in to our new house at the end of April it has felt like there is a never-ending check list of things that we want to get done! It doesn't help that the house is over 60 years old either though. Finally we decided to recruit my father to come up and spend a couple of days with us so we could use his man power and hopefully knock out some of the bigger projects. Well, those couple of days turned into about 5 full days of work! We are so blessed though because some of the work was electrical and to hire someone to do those things would have probably been boo-coo bucks! We tried to keep him fed and well rested and even threw in some baby time to keep him happy:) Our biggest project by far was the outside....we had to build up the foundation around the house which required a truck bed full of dirt and some re-landscaping
...but it is finally finished

and the grass is even growing for us!

He also built shelves in the basement so that I can continue my addiction of organization down there:) The feeling of owning compared to renting is like riding a see saw. Sometimes it is great because you can change, rip out, paint, demolish whatever you chose! But, there is no one to call but yourself to pay for those things that can't be lived with/without or to fix this problem or that. But, I don't think we would change it for anything now:) A see-saw can be pretty fun!

keeping busy!

I was afraid that with me not working this summer I would find myself bored and not knowing what to do with my time to keep busy....however this NOT the case! We have travelled to see our families, had lots of baby organizing to do, and I found one big project to work on. My mom wanted me to make her a patch work tablecloth. Well, I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel because it is done!!!I had no idea what it was going to take to make it work, but after a quick lesson from one of the ladies from our church and stitching, ripping out the stitches, and re stitching----it's complete! I was afraid that I wouldn't finish it before our little man arrived but no worries there:)

I was in such a good mood about completing something so big and it actually turning out that I decided to make a purse to go along with that tablecloth...well, not to go along with it but something else to make and be able to use anyway:) I found a great picture tutorial online and viola!! A sling purse with a flap! Now I think I will just a button to keep it closed and it will be all done. HHHHMMMMM.....what should my next project be?
