Wyatt got to play in a big leaf pile for the first time and really enjoyed finding sticks and flinging leaves with it:)
I forgot to take a picture of him but this kid slept like a marshmellow! He had on a onesie, 2 fleecy feety pj's, plus a fleece jacket and mittens and a stocking cap! He definitely seemed warm enough for the 40 degree weather that we had at night:)
We had a lot of fun Saturday when the families came out fishing, going on canoe rides, playing games and just hanging out together!
Our other fun adventures for the weekend started on Saturday evening. We thought that Wyatt was just really cranky and tired because he was fussing a lot and didn't want to be put down. Even before bed as he was getting ready with all his layers on the fussing continued. The next morning...the same thing! Then when we thought 'ok, just put him down and let him walk around and throw sticks, that will make everything better'....nope. We finally figured out that his left leg was hurting so much that he couldn't stand and was having a hard time crawling! We decided to pack up and head out earlier than we planned and when we got home and put him down for a nap I called the pediatrician's office....long story that keeps going we went to the Prompt care for xrays and he has a broken left leg!!!! It happened when he was going down a slide on Saturday!
My mommy mind just kept going through everything of the last hours thinking of all the times that we grabbed his leg to put on shoes, socks, change his diaper, set him down to walk and play. All those times he was crying and we just thought he was cranky, but we were hurting him!! Oh, did I cry:( The doctor put that cute little chubby leg in a soft cast and on Wednesday bright and early we go in to get the hard cast put on.
My baby is barely a year and already has broken a bone!! I thought that stuff would happen when didn't look like a drunk as he walked anymore. Wrong! We are so thankful that God allowed us to get good medical help and that the injury didn't progress to something worse. Now, we are just watching our little man crawl around like a wounded animal with his heavy leg dragging behind. I think he just might have to learn to walk again after the thing comes off!!
