Legos and First Words....

This kid loves to throw things....whether it's his ball, big music making toy, the remote, or his legos. Everything is prime pickings to be thrown across the room! For his birthday his fabulous Auntie Allie, Great Uncle Tim and Aunt Sue and Mom Mom and Bepa sent him money. We made a trip to a local consignment sale and scored some awesome deals: 2 Veggie Tales dvds, a new shirt and coat for winter, some puzzles, a matching animals game, and Legos. So far we think his favorite is the legos:) Wyatt is super thankful that his family loves his enough to help him celebrate his first birthday and help him get some awesome fun stuff to call his very own:)

In other fun and excited kid news....Wyatt finally said his first word!! "Hi"....as he holds anything that might resemble a phone or is just big up to his ear! Yesterday he was doing it and Mommy wasn't quite sure if it was real or just a fluke...but today he confirmed that he is definitely saying "Hi" to his imaginary friend on the other end:)

Party Time!

Today we celebrated ONE YEAR for the little guy:)
Wyatt's one wish was to go see Daddy at work so we took a walk over there and got to play!

This birthday boy did not really like the hat...it didn't last long til he tried to eat the strap

He was enjoying his gift so much he didn't know which one to play with first!

Wy had so much fun opening his gifts and cards from his family...he seemed to like the tissue paper and envelopes the best:)

We had a yummy hamburger, mac and cheese, corn on the cob dinner outside

Then it was cake time!! A baseball!

Oohhh, it's so good!

Then we finished the night off with measuring how tall he is, a night time bottle and bed....boy it was a busy day:)

There's a One Year Old In the House!!

Aaaahhh, one year is already gone! We are so blessed to have this little guy moving and grooving all over our house! It is so amazing to be able to look back
and see where we have come from

(absolutely love this pick...he is so squished in his seat it is amazing he could even breathe! The pediatrician told us that he was probably ok without all the extras in his seat...nice way of saying that these new parents are WAY overdoing it:)

to where we are now...this sweet little man has grown before our eyes and sometimes it is hard to see that growth. But, grow he has:) His one year highlights are:
*he is a sloppy kisser...he loves to open wide, stick out his tongue and give us a big wet one:)
*he is in to EVERYTHING!!! We have taken to closing doors and barricading entryways to try and contain him
*Those barricades aren't going to last too long...he has quickly learned to scale our best efforts at containment:)
*He will play with a ball allllllll day long...no need to drag out any other toys when a ball is near
*He is also playing catch with that ball or anything else he can get his hands on to throw
*He is standing on his own now... and to celebrate his birthday he decided to gift himself with taking his first first steps just 2 days ago! He is getting braver by the day:)
*7 teeth!
*Wy loves to shake his head 'no'....and is just realizing that his head can go up and down now too:)
*He still loves water....pools, bathtime, hoses. he literally will drop whatever he is playing with and crawl as fast as he can when he hears the bath tub running!!

God has given us such a special gift in Wyatt. His smiles light up our hearts and is a constant reminder of the great God we serve. THANK YOU GOD for our sweet gift in this precious little boy:)

Checkin' it off...

Since moving in to our new house at the end of April it has felt like there is a never-ending check list of things that we want to get done! It doesn't help that the house is over 60 years old either though. Finally we decided to recruit my father to come up and spend a couple of days with us so we could use his man power and hopefully knock out some of the bigger projects. Well, those couple of days turned into about 5 full days of work! We are so blessed though because some of the work was electrical and to hire someone to do those things would have probably been boo-coo bucks! We tried to keep him fed and well rested and even threw in some baby time to keep him happy:) Our biggest project by far was the outside....we had to build up the foundation around the house which required a truck bed full of dirt and some re-landscaping
...but it is finally finished

and the grass is even growing for us!

He also built shelves in the basement so that I can continue my addiction of organization down there:) The feeling of owning compared to renting is like riding a see saw. Sometimes it is great because you can change, rip out, paint, demolish whatever you chose! But, there is no one to call but yourself to pay for those things that can't be lived with/without or to fix this problem or that. But, I don't think we would change it for anything now:) A see-saw can be pretty fun!
