Showers of Blessings!!

These are the goodies that the grandma of one of my kids in my class has given our little boy!! The dresser, we built a few Saturdays ago for our dresser/changer Mom and Dad Kellerman got us....since we don't really have any other storage it will be great to have so many drawers!
We had our doctor's appointment today and we had another sonogram. We got to see how much bigger he has grown! He is almost a full 2 pounds now! He is measuring about a week ahead...meaning he is a little bigger than the due date estimates him at. I don't think he liked having his picture taken because we watched him kick over and over again at me! She had a hard time getting a picture of his left arm this time too! Only because he wouldn't sit still for that either:) I think we have a very active, rambunctious little boy on our hands already!!

Red Bird Adventure Race!!

So, last Sunday Jonathan and Allison had a fun, wet time canoeing, running, and biking through one of our favorite campgrounds. They signed up to race in the Red Bird challenge put on by Illinois State University. We weren't totally sure if they were still going to have it because it was so wet and it was even raining on our drive down to the campground! However, they had a great time despite lots of mud:) The team name they came up with was "Paddle, Peddle, Power" (should have been 'Pedal' but hey we all get the drift:) The race started out with a short run to a swimming pool full of popcorn to search for a tag with the number of their canoe on it, then on to a short portage with their canoe to the lake for a 2 mile paddle.

After the canoeing they had to run about 2 miles through trees and mud to reach their bikes.

The biking portion was 13 miles long (because of all the rain and muddy conditions the biking was changed from 6 miles mountain biking to 13 mile road biking) with some obstacle courses thrown in for some fun. They had to bike to a part of the lake and get off and cross a rope bridge, then crawl through a mud tunnel, and go through a tire run.

After the tire run the got back on the bikes to finish the rest of the biking portion.
They got to finish the race running and sliding on a cold slip n' slide! They had a great time and made some really fun memories too:)

It's A ......

BOY!!!!!! We are adding some more testosterone to the Walberg household:) A hubby and 2 male dogs leaves me very outnumbered but VERY HAPPY:):):):):):):) The doctor said everything looked good. We were able to watch his little heart beat and see all the other different things that they measure and check on while they do the sonogram. It is so amazing to me how I already love this little peanut even though I have never seen him or held him yet! God is so good to us in allowing us to be a part of this beautiful miracle that only occurs because He is sovereign and the Creator of all things. What a comfort to our hearts to know that we are blessed with this little guy, but God holds his heart and future. We do our part as best as we can but our strength rests soley on God and His work through us. The adventures of parenthood are not too far away but just knowing that we have a Savior to lean on and look to for our guidance, comfort, and help is so amazing! Thank you Jesus!!!! The doctor gave us a few printouts and a cd with some pictures and a couple videos of the baby moving:) Thought I would share with you!
