Snow, Snow, Snow!!!

Wyatt had his first true experience of playing in the snow yesterday....he is definitely a little boy who has the same passions as his daddy! We got him all bundled up with lots of layers...

He loved it all so much, even eating it!

By the time we came inside he threw a little fit because he couldn't go back out!!! What a difference a year can make:) His first experience wasn't quite so fun:)

A Little Family Christmas:)

Since we are going to be away from home for Christmas we decided to celebrate early with just our little family this year:) Wyatt and I had fun baking and cooking all day making yummy crusted chicken and broccoli mashed potatoes. We also made chocolate graham crackers and lemon bars for dessert. Too bad he slept through dinner and then decided he wanted nothing to do with potatoes and chicken!!

Jonny built a fire in the fireplace and we read the Christmas story out of Wyatt's bible

Of all the toys that he got...this crayon was his favorite! He likes to walk around and act like he is vacuuming! He even makes a humming noise to go along with it!

Since dinner was a failure for him his second choice of the night was a banana...He opens nice and wide for one of his favorite foods:)

Our little piggy!!:)

After Wyatt went to bed we enjoyed a quiet night in front of the fire and playing Phase 10...one of Jonny's gifts:) I am so looking forward to all our travels this holiday season and seeing family from both sides. I especially can't wait to see Wyatt with his cousins and aunts and uncles. He is gonna love it! So are we!!!:)

Free at Last!

We went from this....

To this....

To this....

To this....

And finally to this!!!!!

Wyatt is finally healed and ready to just be a little boy without the silly encumbrance of a cast or boot!! I think Mommy and Daddy are happier than him because that just means that changing diapers and clothes are a lot easier now:) And it is off just in time for the holidays! He wants to be able to keep up with all his cousins:)

Birthdays and Christmas Trees....

Jonny's birthday was the 3rd so we decided what better way to celebrate then homemade hot wings and red velvet cake! Then a little trip in the not so nice snowy weather and super slippery roads to get our Christmas tree!
Wy was such a little trooper all marshmellowed up and frozen nosed cold:)

Our trip was unsuccessful that night...but the cake was good:)

We decided to go out the next day and finish our tree shopping and get it all set up! Wy really enjoyed taking out all the decorations then pushing the box around:)

He was such a good helper with Daddy..."Not quite straight enough Daddy, a little more to the right."

Yay for the finished product and making sweet memories with our little family!

That big black boot will be gone soon!! We go in on the 15th for his finally x-ray and hopefully that will be the end of that thing for good!

Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving in St. Louis this year and had such a great time with family!! It was so nice to not have a schedule to work around and just be able to do whatever whenever:) I even had my first opportunity to make a turkey and it turned out!! Wyatt also got to enjoy some super fun cousin time:)

Koby finding Wy's belly button:)

Lots of babies under one roof!

We even took some time to try and get a family photo

Next year our family photo will have one more member!! We are so excited to meet this little boy! I'm in my nesting mode now and just want to hold him and use all the things we have for him already:)

March 30 will be here before we know it...now for some names to think on:)

'Giggles and Chase'

One of Wyatt's favorite games to play with Daddy is 'Giggles and Chase'. He loves to be tickled and then roll around from place to place on the ground and be chased and tickled some more! So cute!

Some Fall Fun

This is some of Wyatt's favorite past time activities...sitting in his lego bucket, books, throwing his legos, and showing off his big green cast:)

Jonny is carving our pumpkin....but now the squirrels have found it and think it's pretty yummy:(

Love homemade pumpkin seeds, YUM!

Auntie Allie came for a quick weekend visit and Wyatt LOVED it!!!!
He's doing his really cheesy smile in this photo:)

Wyatt isn't walking anymore with the cast:( But he does a pretty good job still getting around with that big bulky thing on:)

First Cast.....

Bright and early Wednesday the 20th Wyatt went in to get his cast on.

(enjoying breakfast in the waiting room)

He was so good while they had to take off the soft cast and get him ready for the hard cast. Wy and Daddy picked out the green one. They didn't have camo, but if they did I know our little guy would have loved playing hide and seek with that:)

His poor little leg had so many creases and wrinkles from the soft cast so they put a little extra padding around those parts just to make sure they didn't become too irritated.

We kept him full of milk and teddy grahams the whole time to keep him from wiggling and falling off the table.

He was such a trooper!!! We go back in 2 weeks to take xrays through the cast to make sure everything is healing right. After about 4-5 weeks the cast will come off and he will most likely have a boot to wear for a little while. Right now he gets so frustrated because he hasn't figured out how to stand yet...but I think he'll get there:) He's a tough little guy!!!

Camping and other fun adventures...

We took our last camping trip for the season to our favorite place around here.
The campground, every year, has this weekend set aside as their "Fall Colors" weekend. It is a great time for families to come and camp and they have lots of fun things for kids to do. Saturday is the big day for the activities and they have games, roasts, bounce houses, candy hunts, etc. for everyone to do. We invited a few families from church out on Saturday to roast hotdogs and s'mores that evening then enjoy the trick-or-treating that happens from campsite to campsite too.
Wyatt got to play in a big leaf pile for the first time and really enjoyed finding sticks and flinging leaves with it:)

I forgot to take a picture of him but this kid slept like a marshmellow! He had on a onesie, 2 fleecy feety pj's, plus a fleece jacket and mittens and a stocking cap! He definitely seemed warm enough for the 40 degree weather that we had at night:)

We had a lot of fun Saturday when the families came out fishing, going on canoe rides, playing games and just hanging out together!

Our other fun adventures for the weekend started on Saturday evening. We thought that Wyatt was just really cranky and tired because he was fussing a lot and didn't want to be put down. Even before bed as he was getting ready with all his layers on the fussing continued. The next morning...the same thing! Then when we thought 'ok, just put him down and let him walk around and throw sticks, that will make everything better'....nope. We finally figured out that his left leg was hurting so much that he couldn't stand and was having a hard time crawling! We decided to pack up and head out earlier than we planned and when we got home and put him down for a nap I called the pediatrician's office....long story that keeps going we went to the Prompt care for xrays and he has a broken left leg!!!! It happened when he was going down a slide on Saturday!

My mommy mind just kept going through everything of the last hours thinking of all the times that we grabbed his leg to put on shoes, socks, change his diaper, set him down to walk and play. All those times he was crying and we just thought he was cranky, but we were hurting him!! Oh, did I cry:( The doctor put that cute little chubby leg in a soft cast and on Wednesday bright and early we go in to get the hard cast put on.

My baby is barely a year and already has broken a bone!! I thought that stuff would happen when didn't look like a drunk as he walked anymore. Wrong! We are so thankful that God allowed us to get good medical help and that the injury didn't progress to something worse. Now, we are just watching our little man crawl around like a wounded animal with his heavy leg dragging behind. I think he just might have to learn to walk again after the thing comes off!!

Fall is Here!!

This time of year is what I love the most! I love the fall trees and leaves, cool/warm weather, less bugs:), pumpkin and apple food, caramel apples,
(a goofy hubby in lots of unmatching camo:)

candles that smell of autumn, if they made fall music I'm sure I would love that too! The first chance I had - out came the fall wreaths, candles, pumpkins, mums, and other decor that remind me of my most favorite time of year:) Another highlight of fall is a pumpkin/apple farm!!! Last year we took Wyatt...however, he stayed in a sling and slept the whole time. This time it was so fun to see him smiling and giggling over the goats,

patting and trying to roll the pumpkins,

and even having him reach out his little hands and knock over a whole bowl of sample salsa...the ladies working there didn't seem to happy about that one!
Afterward we satisfied our grumbling bellies with some Panda Express...Wy seemed to really like the chow mein!

Things just seem so fresh and new and exciting when seen through the sweet eyes of a toddler....HAPPY FALL!!!

Wyatt Goes Camping!

We finally got to take the little man camping. Honestly, this age is probably not the easiest age to do this because he switches between crawling and walking too much and there is just too much that his little mouth will taste!! But, it was soooo fun to finally get out together as a family and spend quality time doing one of our favorite things:)

Our tent is just the right size for a queen blow-up and a pack-n-play:)
Align Center
This was his first canoe ride...he didn't last long before he was freaking out because of the squeeze of his seat and the life jacket. He ended up riding on my lap. By the end of our time there he was resigned to the fact that he had to wear the jacket.

Our little site! Water access right in our sight and plenty of room for Shooter run around too!

Hiking in the woods with Daddy!

Two oh so handsome men!!!

Our usual position plus one daddy and one dog:)

Dinner time!

Roasting some hotdogs!

Piggies in the water (absolutely LOVE this photo!)

It was so fun to get away....we can't wait for October when we get to go again!!
