The Hot-Cold Game

Do you ever find yourself coming home from grocery shopping with lots of good deals only to find that when it is time to put them into the freezer you can no longer shut the freezer? Or you finally work all the food into it, get the door shut, then the next morning wake up to a puddle on the floor because the door popped open? Well, that is no longer going to happen to us!! We decided it was time to make the big purchase and get a chest freezer!! I am really excited about the possibilities that are now at my fingertips:) We did some research and finally decided to go with a Sam's Club special on the 5 cubit freezer, got it set up and then I had to wait 4 hours before I could do anything! Patience isn't one of my stronger characteristics....however, it was worth it! The first thing that I made to stick in this thing was homemade baby food. I'm trying my hand at it and trying not to poison our son in the process. A really good website that I have found to help this novice is wholesomebabyfood.com. Now I have started my list on the things that I would like to stock in there and call me crazy, but I am so excited!! Currently I am working on shredding an entire baked chicken for several recipes, some yummy waffles and breakfast burritos for breakfasts, and then some homemade pasta sauce made from tomato puree. I guess the hot-cold game was worth it because it has now brought us a lovely freezer to fill and maybe even help us cut the grocery bill a little at a time:)
(This is Wyatt's stash of goods...can't believe he is already eating solids!)
I couldn't resist adding this picture.
It's a little dark...but it's our sweet little boy all curled up and snuggling with his blanky:) Oh, he has stolen our hearts!!!!

Games, Games, and more Games!!

Jonathan decided that his new favorite thing to do is play games...not video or computer games, but board games. We usually try and have some people over for a game night about once a month, so he thought it might be nice to spice it up.....hence spending boo-coo bucks on about 4 new games! Hey, it's his birthday money...more power to him:) So, needless to say we have been spending many evenings learning and playing these new and pretty fun games......

A Love Day Special

So this Valentines it was my turn to plan....what can we do with a 6 month old in tow?? Also, it lands on a Sunday and we didn't want to ruin someone else's VDay by asking them to babysit so we planned it all for Wednesday. Well, for the first time we left little Wy Guy with someone other then family! It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be and our friend from church is great:) So we headed out to watch 3-D Avatar, since Jonny had been wanting to see it for a while. Then off to Red Lobster with our gift card to stuff ourselves on their super yummy biscuits and dishes of mahi-mahi and a grilled chicken sandwich--mm-good:) That is what I planned.

Jonathan then planned the actual VDay fun....some yummy jalapeno poppers with fresh fruit and a night playing games! What a fun and easy celebration of LOVE!

Half a Year!!!

Our sweet little guy is 6 months old! Yay for half birthdays:)

*He is officially eating big boy food...a.k.a. liquid goo that he loves to get up his nose, on his face, and on his highchair:)
* A tooth is popping up in the front!! First one and so far he hasn't really been too fussy because of it
*He is almost rolling from his back to his front...he can't quite get that shoulder to cooperate so he can reach those toys that are placed just out of reach:)
*He is still growing soooo long! He is 28 and 1/4 inches long (96%)! but he is such a skinny little dude at 16 lbs.
*He has a new doorway jumper that he sits in sometimes...not really a big fan yet
*He loves to watch the dogs as they wrestle and bark...loads of free entertainment
*He still has us wrapped firmly around those sweet little fingers of his....and I don't think he is going to let go!
