4 MONTHS!!

Well, our little stud muffin has turned 4 months....

here are a few fun tidbits of our little guy:
*he still likes to be swaddled when put to bed! Like a little burrito:)*
*he is holding his head up better and loves to hang out in his exersaucer*
*he's starting to 'talk' and just this morning he let us know just how much he hated getting dressed for the day by a big loud scream!*
*when he hears our voices he gets a big smile on his face*
*his recent stats are 14 lbs 3 oz and 26.5 inches long*
*he is starting to watch his 4 legged brothers and follow them around the room with his eyes*
*he's a snuggler only when it's naptime...otherwise he loves to look out at the world in your arms*
*he tried a test run of rice cereal for the first time yesterday!*

Deck the Halls.....

with boughs of holly. Fa la la la la la la:):) It is officially the Christmas season and our home is decked out and smells like a Christmas tree! Yay for celebrating the birth of our Savior!

December is a busy month for our family not only because of all the traveling we do to see family for the holidays but because there are so many birthdays to celebrate! Jonathan celebrated his 28th birthday on the 3rd and his birthday dinner and dessert request was homemade buffalo chicken wings and an iced angel food cake! The other birthdays in December are my dad, our niece Corinne, me, and my mom! Plus the biggest birthday of all, Jesus!

Wyatt is helping Daddy celebrate!

The cake!

Before we left to go to Toledo for Thanksgiving I decided that I wanted to decorate for Christmas so that when we came home we would have that much longer to enjoy it all:) On Jonny's birthday we went to get our little Christmas tree.

On a little side trip to Wal-Mart for lights Jonny tried on his outfit for Halloween next year!

Of course, this is Wyatt's first Christmas so that calls for a photo op!!

It is so much fun to see Christmas through the eyes of a parent. I keep thinking of fun traditions that I want to be a part of our celebrations and of all the 'new' stories that we will get to share with Wyatt:) What are some of your favorite holiday traditions and books?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has come and gone so quickly! We spent the holiday time in Toledo with the Walberg side of the family. It was Wyatt's first trip to Ohio and his first time to visit Great Grandma Walberg. It was so special to be able to share with her Wyatt! She loved to hold him and just sit and watch him.

Jonathan's brother, Josh, works as a lifeguard at the YMCA we spent quite a few days there working out and swimming some laps in the pool. Wyatt had his very first swim! He loves his bathtime at home so we figured it's never to early to introduce him to the joys of chlorine:)

Wyatt also loved his special time with Grandma! A few times just him and Grandma hung out while his mommy and daddy got so time together. He sure did love all that special attention:) Grandma also made soooo much great food!! It was a good thing that we spent time at the Y to try and work all of that off!

What a great gift to get a picture of 4 generations of Walbergs! Wyatt sure does come from a great line of godly influences. We left on Monday to beat the traffic and stopped in Indiana for a couple of hours to visit Jonathan's sister, Allison. It was so neat to see the ministry that she is working for and spend that time with her.

3 MONTHS!!!

This sweet little boy is growing so fast! Here are just a few things that he is really into right now:
*He loves to be rocked/jiggled to sleep! It is a rare occurrence that he falls asleep on his own.
*He really loves his exercise mat! It has a musical froggy on it that he grabs and gets the music going:)
*The real tears are officially flowing:(
*He loves to go outside (just like his daddy:)! Any time he is really fussy all we have to do is put him in his carrier and go outside and it knocks him right out!
*He is smiling up a storm! What a special treat each morning to go in and see his cute little smile! Makes getting up worth it:)
*He's quite the little charmer any time we go anywhere--he draws in all the pretty ladies with his handsome smile:)
*He's a blessing from above that we praise and thank God for each and every day!!!!

Busy October!!

WEll, we were finally able to get our bathroom redone! Anyone who has been to our home and has had the privilege of using our lovely bathroom knows that it was long in coming! We left to head down to St. Louis to stay with my parents on a Thursday to Monday so the work could be done without us under foot. By the time Monday rolled around they still weren't completed, I stayed in St. L and Jonathan went back for the week because he had to work. While I was there Wyatt got loads of Grammy and Gramps time and we even made a trip to Branson to visit family down there!

(Gramps having a little early Halloween fun:)

It was so nice to be with family and to relax down there, however, there is just something so nice and comforting about being back in your own home and not living out of a suitcase anymore! We came home Sunday night....to a bathroom that STILL was not completed. By Wednesday we were all ready to move everything back into our mold-free bathroom!!!! Oh, happy day!!!

Also, Wy Wy is over 2 months old! We went to the doctor for his 2 month check up and shots and he was such a champ! He only cried for about 20 seconds after those shots and then he was fine! That was good for my Mommy-heart that I didn't have to comfort an hysterical baby. He now weighs 12 lbs 4 oz and is 25 in long! Such a long boy!! He is already wearing his 3-6 month clothes and fitting them perfectly! He isn't going to be a little baby much longer:( He is starting to smile a lot more and enteracting with us. So fun to go to his crib in the morning and see his sweet smile and know that he is glad to see us! He is sleeping through the night now, usually from 10 pm to 6 am!!! It is nice to have a full night's sleep. As you can see from the picture below he is starting his spit factory. He gets his little tongue going and then he has a ring of bubbles on his mouth! I sure hope that isn't a sign of teeth!

This next picture might just gross you out, however, this is another reason why October has been so busy! Jonny was playing football last Saturday and he happened to fall on a broken sign post!!!! Initially he didn't realize he had even cut his knee open until someone pointed it out to him! He took a little trip to the emergency room where they had to clean it out because they were playing in mud. He now has 15 stitches and has been resting it since then. He went to the doctor yesterday because we were concerned for infection, today he will go back again to see if it is any better. This year has been full of hospital visits and bills--his leg injury and blood clots at the beginning of the year and the many trips in and out for blood tests, the birth of Wyatt, and now this. However, God is so good to us because all of these things have not been too serious and He has continually supplied all our needs. We serve such an awesome God!!!

Yay for Fall!

Fall is my most favorite time of year....I look forward to it all year and when it rolls around there is just something so exciting about decorating, baking, pumpkin picking and enjoying the beautiful fall colors in the trees. This year is no different, only there is one added bonus....we have a little guy in our midst and I hope that he will learn to love this time as much as I do! We went to a local farm to pick out a big pumpkin and a few little pumpkins to add to our home.
I LOVE FALL!!!!

Our sweet little man chillin' on a bale of hay:)

Our Family! (well, minus our 4-legged little kids)

Hi Wyatt!!

He absolutely loves his sling! I use it around the house if I need to get things done, at church where he needs to learn proper quiet etiquette, on walks around the neighborhood:)

My own little piece of Fall:)

4 Weeks Already!!!

Wyatt playing peek-a-boo with Daddy:)

Such little hands!!!

I can't believe that our little guy is 4 weeks old already! Has it really been that long ago that he decided to make his grand entrance?!?! At 4 weeks he has already rolled himself from his belly to his back! We think that it was a lucky roll...and he didn't like it once he was on his back:) We are still getting the hang of nursing, he loves his paci, and thank goodness dog barking doesn't scare him!!! What a precious gift we have and are so thankful for!

Blow....

OUT!!!!! That is the only word that will adequately describe Wyatt's first adventure to church. We went to St. Louis for the Labor Day weekend and stayed with Michelle and Dennis. We had a great time just relaxing and eating:) Sunday we decided it had been long enough sequestered away from germs so we packed up and headed to church. The service hadn't even gotten to singing...it was the middle of a baptism and we hear the wonderful sound of a minny explosion in the car seat next to us. Well, I never really saw the baptism because we were to busy shoving a bag under a tiny hiny--trying to save the car seat. A trip to the bathroom and a new outfit finally complete, Wyatt then decides that he is hungry...he eats...then he decides that he is cranky...so we walk the halls. The final hymn plays and Wyatt's first spiritual experience is over and I don't think I even know what the passage of scripture was for the day!!! A party for all:)

Wyatt James Walberg is here!!!!!!!

Well, I am going to attempt to condense Wyatt's story so I don't have a novel on here. On August 15th Jonathan and I decided to take the dogs to the park to let them run around in the creek and because I was feeling REALLY pregnant and needed to get OUT! So, we arrive at the park around 4:30 and start our hike to the creek. About 5 minutes into the walk I already have blisters and decide to just go barefoot. We decided to sit in the creek for 2 hours to just talk and relax while the dogs played, little did we know my water had broken! When we came home we called the doctor and they told us to head to the hospital just make sure I was really in labor. I WAS!!!! They admitted me and that was the beginning of my birth plan being thrown out the window. The plan the whole time was to try and go 'all natural'....hahahahahahahaha!!!! Not happening! They decided to hook me up to pitocin because labor was really progressing and my water had been broken for a while already. My parents came up that evening and stayed with us till a little past midnight I think. So all through the night they are pumping full of fluids and pitocin and I am starting to get more and more unsure of my "all natural" stance! I decided to try an IV of some pain meds....didn't last too long though. Soon I was calling for the epidural....the man that put it in must do it all day long because I never felt a thing! Then he went home and my best friend was on for the rest of my labor...the best little Asian woman you would want to meet:) She became my best friend for the next long hours of labor:) When I would see her I knew life would be good again! By the next afternoon, after having my parents and my wonderful hubby there it was almost time for our little guy to arrive! But, Jonathan's stomach was calling him to Subway...on te other side of the hospital. My mom called him and told him to put the sandwich away and get up here!! Of course, when he really needed to hurry that was when the elevator had to be full AND stop on every floor up to the 5th! In the midst of it all golf was keeping him entertained too:) Around the 17th hole with Tiger Woods behind our little Wyatt James decided to make his entrance into the world along with lots of tears and and sighs of relief on my part:) His cord was around his neck so they had to give him oxygen, but he was perfect in every way!!! He weighted 9 lbs 8 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long (he had a cone head so now he is only 22" inches long). The nurses couldn't get over how long he was! He almost didn't fit on the measuring table!!
What a perfect gift God has given to us!! We couldn't be happier to have our little Wy Wy home and getting to use all his cute little things:) After about 24 hours of labor I thought I would never forget all those long hours, but all it takes is just one look at a miracle such as your own son to look at the future instead of the past and pray that he will be a man after God's own heart. We are so blessed and so thankful for all the prayers and gifts and encouragement during this whole thing...we are blessed beyond measure!! Let the party begin..............

It's Come and Gone

Well, our ETA of our little guy has now passed us by and still no munchkin in our arms. We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and have set an induction date for Tuesday night (if he decides to wait that long). The busyness of the summer is over....now all that is left to do is wait....which is one thing that I have never been very good at:( So it's anybody's guess as to when he wants to make his grand appearance! Any guesses:)

keeping busy!

I was afraid that with me not working this summer I would find myself bored and not knowing what to do with my time to keep busy....however this NOT the case! We have travelled to see our families, had lots of baby organizing to do, and I found one big project to work on. My mom wanted me to make her a patch work tablecloth. Well, I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel because it is done!!!I had no idea what it was going to take to make it work, but after a quick lesson from one of the ladies from our church and stitching, ripping out the stitches, and re stitching----it's complete! I was afraid that I wouldn't finish it before our little man arrived but no worries there:)

I was in such a good mood about completing something so big and it actually turning out that I decided to make a purse to go along with that tablecloth...well, not to go along with it but something else to make and be able to use anyway:) I found a great picture tutorial online and viola!! A sling purse with a flap! Now I think I will just a button to keep it closed and it will be all done. HHHHMMMMM.....what should my next project be?

A few pics of the happenings....

We are officially ready for our little guy to come home!! We have washed, cleaned, organized, reorganized, and probably re-reorganized all his little things in anticipation of his homecoming:):)

My sister and Mom had a shower to help us celebrate the little peanut...

We finally got the carpets cleaned....look at Jonny working so diligently:)

And some of the biggest news is that my sister and her husband have adopted a precious baby boy!! Koby James Haudrich was born on June 25 and they are in Florida now and getting ready to bring him home!! It will be so fun for our little guys to grow up together!!! Hopefully the link below works to be able to see him:)

Thunder and Lighting and Scardy Dogs....

Wow, that is the only way to describe our 2 pooches. We had a pretty heavy storm come through last night and around 4 a.m. our little one, Shooter, decides that he really needs to go to the bathroom. Which means he whines and whines until we can get ourselves out of bed and let him out. It always seems that when it's raining, storming, super wet, or the middle of the night - that is when he just HAS to go out!! So we let him do his business...but about 15 minutes later he's whining again! His big brother, Cochise, is super afraid of storms and thunder. He shakes, pants, crawls under our bed or the couch and sometimes even into the bath tub to feel safe. Needless to say, both pups were agitated and scared last night, neither wanted to be in their own beds, which meant WE were not in our own bed either! We finally just went into the living room around 5 am to watch the news and both dogs crawled under the couch to escape....not sure what they were escaping from though! We figure this is just God's way of preparing us for when our 2 legged baby arrives and he is waking us EVERY night, not just the nights with storms. Hopefully we'll have more patience with him than we did with 2 whiny dogs!!!

Just a Checkup

I went in today for a 32 week checkup. There had been some concern about where my placenta was located and so my midwife scheduled another sonogram to check it out. Yay!!! It is in a safe place! The concern was that because it was low-lying there might be need for a C-section.... that is now no longer any concern! Praise the Lord! We also got to see our sweet little peanut again. This time he I don't think he liked being poked and prodded...he was moving and kicking all around:) We even saw him practice opening and closing his little mouth:) He is not about 16 inches long and about 4 pounds. Which leaves us with just a few weeks left before we finally get to meet him! YAY!!! the picture is us at Jonathan's parents house (about 30 weeks in the picture). We were able to go and visit with his family for a few days and his parents had an "Advise Shower" for us. It was so sweet! They invited couples that Jonny had grown up knowing and asked that they come ready to eat and also to share some special words of wisdom with us as new parents. It was such a special time and it was so wonderful for me to meet again some of the people that really love Jonathan and his family.

Time is Tickin' Away...

Hard to believe that in a little over 2 months our new little Walberg will be here! We have been doing some work to get ready for the little guy. Our house is pretty small so he is going to have to share a room with our computer, bookshelf, and Jonny's closet! Here are just couple snap shots of how it's coming along...

This is a bookshelf my dad made in high school! What a cool keepsake from Gramps:)

We aren't putting the crib up til after he comes, but some friends of ours let us borrow their portable bassinet. The piece of wood sticking out of it is a shelf that Jonathan made over Memorial Day with my dad (it will hang over the crib).

This is an idea for his first outfit! A "going home" outfit from the hospital:)
